In 2025, PNG celebrated its 50th year of independence. Our task was to create a hero film that showcased PNG’s history and stoked national pride.

The result is a hero film that celebrates Papua New Guinea’s diverse and resilient people, and showcases its unmatched natural beauty. The film follows PNG’s national bird, the Kumul, seeing everything through its eyes. We used a mix of archival and modern drone footage to follow the Kumul from 1975 to the present day, capturing all the provinces, cultures and ways of life along the way.

The film is soundtracked by the famous PNG song ‘Wan Kantri’, sung by the Tanata Village Choir.
